This site provides workshops on designing on-line instructional systems, clearly a direction which educators are beginning to explore. The information about what the workshops include gives teachers some idea of that process. I have no direct experience with their workshops, but they look very complete and are worth a look if you're considering development of on-line instruction. Their links page is well organized and very complete.
